In a diabetic diet meal plan is very important the switch between macronutrients instead of reducing quantities what you are already eating.
If you don’t know, macronutrients are carbohydrates, fat and protein. For example: if you breakfast is made of pancakes, sweetned drinks and maple syrup, if you keep eating these kind of foods plenty of carbohydrates, reducing the quantity, will not make any change on your glucose (blood sugar) levels.
So, to you have a real result, you need to switch the sources of calories you´re eating. Instead of foods with too much carbohydrates, switch it for foods protein rich and/or with good fat.
These changes in the diet will benefit your whole body and mainly your blood sugar levels will stay more stable.
In a type 2 diabetes diet, you need to avoid all foods rich in sugar, and all the ones that will transform in sugar very fast inside your body. The most common ones are the food starchy rich like potato, bread, pasta, white rice, corn, beets, pumpkins, and so on.
So to reverse type 2 diabetes and keep your blood sugar under control, switch starchy food, rich in carbohydrate that will be absorbed on your body very fast for protein rich food and good fat food that will be slowly absorbed making your blood sugar stable, without spikes.
