Health Enhanced Foods was born from our founder’s passion for baking and desire to feed her family the food they love but with greater nutritional value. Caroline Egbelu and her husband enjoy the traditional fufu dishes of their native Nigeria yet Caroline, who holds a bachelor’s of science in agricultural economics from Penn State University, discovered that fufu flour products available in the United States are highly processed and contain additives that rob the flour of much of its natural nutrients. So began her quest to create unprocessed fufu flour made from locally sourced ingredients that contain no additives and preserve all their natural nutrients. The result is our Premium Fufu Flour and Superior Fufu Flour.
Following Caroline’s success with unprocessed, all-natural fufu flour came expansion into other natural unprocessed flours, including flours for dumplings popular with native Caribbeans; breakfast flour for wholesome pancakes, waffles and muffins for health-conscious families; gluten-free flour; a nutritional mix for the elderly, ill or those with low appetites; and general use flours for all purposes.
Today, Caroline remains committed to the three pillars that served as the foundation of Health Enhanced Foods and separate our products from others on the market:

All our flours are custom-blended under Caroline’s watchful eye in our Rockaway plant. Caroline also holds educational classes and demonstrations to teach others about the benefits of healthy eating with unprocessed, blended flours.
