IN a move that resonates well with the National Development Strategy (NDS1) pillar of access to health services and Vision 2030 – the Obey Bvute Foundation is providing high blood pressure(hypertension) and diabetic medication to the elderly in Mutasa North Constituency.
The initiative, which is being spearheaded in partnership with Mutasa North legislator, Honourable Obey Bvute, aligns with President Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind. As a result, it has seen 240 elderly members of the community receiving medication for free.
The foundation’s efforts have been welcomed by the community, as many senior citizens have been struggling to access these essential medications. Previously, they had to travel to Hauna Growth Point for the medication, which is often not available.
This resulted in some elderly patients going for months without medication, leading to dire consequences. Honourable Bvute said the foundation is committed to supporting vulnerable community members, particularly the elderly.
